Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has urged residents of Funtua Zone and the state at large to renew the mandates of President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress in the 2027 elections, citing the need to sustain ongoing development efforts.
Radda made the call on Wednesday during the flag-off of the Tinubu/Dikko 2027 campaign in Funtua, where party leaders, candidates and supporters gathered for the event.
According to a statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, on October 28, 2026, Radda said the campaign was an opportunity to present his administration’s record under the Building Your Future Agenda, engage residents and renew commitments to security, prosperity and inclusive development.
The governor said his administration had placed security at the centre of governance, working with security agencies, traditional institutions and the Federal Government to restore peace across the state.
“Without peace, economic activities suffer, children cannot go to school, and farmers cannot go to farm. We will sustain the momentum until every resident can go about his lawful business without fear,” he said.
Radda also highlighted investments in road construction, urban renewal and energy solutions, describing Funtua as a strategic commercial centre for agricultural trade and job creation.
He said his administration remained committed to supporting farmers, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, women and young people through improved opportunities for entrepreneurship, skills acquisition and private-sector growth.
The governor added that the government was strengthening schools, supporting teachers, improving primary healthcare and expanding health insurance coverage for vulnerable residents.
He commended Tinubu for the reforms being pursued under the Renewed Hope Agenda, pledging that Katsina State would continue aligning its policies with federal initiatives to improve development outcomes.
Radda also urged APC candidates and stakeholders to conduct their campaigns with humility, discipline and respect for democratic choice.
He called on party leaders and grassroots mobilisers across the state’s 34 local government areas and 361 wards to maintain unity, pursue peaceful mobilisation and engage voters through door-to-door campaigns.
Earlier, the Director-General of the Tinubu/Dikko 2027 Campaign Council, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, thanked residents of Funtua Zone for their turnout at the event.
Dangiwa said Tinubu was working to reposition the national economy, while Radda was delivering development initiatives at the grassroots. He urged party members to strengthen their structures ahead of the elections.
The Katsina State APC Chairman, Dr. Bishir Gambo Saulawa, described the campaign flag-off as an opportunity to consolidate the party’s strength.
Saulawa presented party flags and banners to candidates seeking election to the three senatorial seats, 15 House of Representatives seats and 34 State House of Assembly seats.
He urged the candidates to prioritise the collective interest of the party and effective representation of their constituencies.
Those who attended the event included Deputy Governor Faruk Lawal Jobe; former governors Aminu Bello Masari and Ibrahim Shehu Shema; national and state party leaders; federal and state lawmakers; local government chairmen; candidates; traditional rulers; and thousands of APC supporters from across Funtua Zone.
West Trybe reports that the campaign flag-off signals the APC’s early mobilisation efforts in Katsina ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the party seeking to build support around the records and policy agendas of Tinubu and Radda.
