On Sunday, July 13, 2026, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, marked a deeply personal milestone. His wife, Pastor Mrs. Foluke Adenike Adeboye, turned 78. And true to form, “Daddy G.O” marked the day not with fanfare, but with a heartfelt letter that quickly went viral across the Christian world.
In his message, the 84-year-old cleric reflected on 59 years of marriage, ministry, and partnership, calling his wife his “support system,” his “number one fan,” and a modern-day Proverbs 31 woman whose prayers have shaped families and nations.
The Full Message From Pastor Adeboye

Pastor Adeboye shared the tribute across his social platforms, using it to both celebrate his wife and teach young couples. This is the message he posted:
To My Lover, Foluke.
Great has been the journey of walking side by side with you. And so today, on your 78th birthday, is a gift to me, to have the world join me in doing what I have spent 58 years doing: celebrating you.
With you, the weight of the assignment has always been a lighter cross to carry. Our two have agreed, and so our walking together has been of divine stride, a race continuously illuminated, step after step, decade after decade. My path shines brighter because I walk it with you.
Many people know you as Mummy G.O. I have the privilege of knowing you simply as my wife, my friend, and the person who has stood with me through every challenge, every victory, and every assignment God has given us. I have watched you give strength to others even when you were tired yourself. I have seen your quiet sacrifices, your compassion, your wisdom, and your unwavering trust in God. Those are the things that make me thank God for you every day.
Our children have been blessed because of your love. The family of God has been blessed because of your devotion. Countless homes have been strengthened because you answered God’s call with all your heart.
Seventy-eight years of your life, fifty-eight years of them beside me, and still I find new reasons to thank God for you. You have been wife, counsel, and companion in every sense the word was ever meant to hold.
As you celebrate today, my prayer is simple. May the God whom you have served so faithfully continue to uphold you. May He surround you with His peace, fill your days with fresh joy, strengthen your body, renew your strength, and continue to satisfy you with His goodness. May the years ahead be even more fruitful than those behind, and may you continue to see the mighty hand of God at work in your life.
Thank you for walking hand in hand with me. Happy 78th birthday, my love.
Your loving husband,
Pastor E. A. Adeboye
“She Is A Powerful Woman, And I Am Her Head”
The message sparked wide conversation online. Pastor Adeboye described Foluke as a woman who commands respect and gives instructions to many, yet remains deeply committed to her role at home. He emphasized biblical headship and partnership, noting that despite her influence, she honors him as head of the home.
He also highlighted her personal care and sacrifice through the years, from cooking and serving him, to trimming his nails and cutting his hair when he was a teacher.
59 Years of Marriage, Ministry, and Mission
Pastor Enoch Adeboye and Foluke Adeboye were married in 1967. Together, they have raised four children, all of whom are pastors, and built RCCG into one of the largest Pentecostal denominations in the world with parishes in over 190 countries.
Foluke, fondly called “Mummy G.O,” has been described over the years as the “pillar of strength” behind the ministry. Pastor Adeboye noted that she has “poured her heart and soul into ministering God’s love to men, women, and children, including orphans and those who have suffered the hard knocks of life”.
In his 75th birthday tribute to her in 2023, he called her “the pillar of our family, a source of strength and inspiration, and my most cherished companion”, adding that “your wisdom, grace, and kindness have touched the lives of those around us”.
Tributes Pour In From Across Nigeria and Beyond
The 78th birthday celebration drew an outpouring of tributes from church leaders, public figures, and millions of RCCG members worldwide.
Apostle Johnson Suleman, Apostle Joshua Selman, and other prominent ministers joined in celebrating “Mummy G.O” as an intercessor and role model.
Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, also sent warm wishes, describing Pastor Foluke as a Proverbs 31 woman whose life embodies grace, compassion, and generosity.

Business mogul Folorunso Alakija wrote: “Your unwavering faith, gentle spirit, profound generosity, and wisdom have touched countless lives, including mine. You are an embodiment of grace”.
Pastor Leke Adeboye, the couple’s last child, also paid tribute: “You are an extraordinary woman, a true inspiration and a blessing to all who know you. Thank you for being an exceptional mother, a devoted pastor’s wife, and an incredible woman of God”.
RCCG’s official page added: “Happy Birthday to our Mummy, Pastor (Mrs) Folu Adeboye, we pray that God mercy, grace and favour will be on increase in your life”.
A Marriage Held Up As A Model
For decades, the Adeboyes have been held up in Christian circles as a model of partnership in ministry and marriage. Pastor Adeboye often credits his wife’s prayers and support for the global reach of RCCG, while Foluke has pioneered women’s and children’s programs within the church.
At 78, Pastor Foluke continues to minister, mentor, and intercede. In his letter, Adeboye prayed for her “ongoing health and joy,” noting how she has given strength to others even when tired.
The message resonated beyond church walls, sparking conversations online about marriage, submission, and service. While some praised the tribute as beautiful and biblical, others debated parts of the message on social media.

But for millions, the letter was a reminder of a covenant that has endured nearly six decades, through poverty, persecution, and global prominence.
As RCCG members around the world celebrated, the sentiment was clear: Foluke Adeboye at 78 is more than “Mummy G.O.” She is a wife, mother, intercessor, and partner whose life, according to her husband, continues to reflect God’s faithfulness, mercies, and love.
