Comfort Erhabor has joined Crystal Palace Women, with the Super Falcons goalkeeper signing a two-year contract with the English club as she takes another step forward in her developing career. Crystal Palace officially announced the signing on September 3, 2026, confirming the arrival of the 21-year-old Nigeria international ahead of the new Women’s Super League season.

The move is an important one for Erhabor, who has steadily built her career through England’s women’s football system and recently earned recognition at senior international level with Nigeria.

Crystal Palace confirmed that Erhabor had joined the club on a two-year deal after spending the previous season with Portsmouth.

The goalkeeper said she was excited about the opportunity and described the transfer as a major step towards her ambition of playing at the highest level.

Her arrival also gives Palace another option between the posts as the club prepares for life in the Women’s Super League. Manager Jo Potter welcomed Erhabor to the team, describing her as a promising young goalkeeper.

For Erhabor, the move represents more than simply changing clubs. It places her in a new environment where she will have the chance to compete for playing time while continuing to develop at one of the highest levels of women’s football in England.

From Brighton Academy to Crystal Palace

Erhabor’s journey to Crystal Palace has taken several stages. She joined the Brighton & Hove Albion Academy after previously being with West Ham United and signed her first professional contract with Brighton in January 2024. At Brighton, she featured regularly for the club’s youth setup and also trained around the senior team.

She later gained senior experience through loan spells with Hibernian in Scotland and Plymouth Argyle before moving to Portsmouth. Those experiences helped expose the young goalkeeper to different levels and styles of women’s football before her move to Palace.

Erhabor joined Portsmouth in July 2025 and made six appearances across all competitions during her time with the club, according to Crystal Palace and recent reports.

Her time at Portsmouth therefore became another important stage in a career that has progressed from academy football to senior international recognition.

Super Falcons Recognition Came in 2026

While Erhabor’s club career was developing in England, she also earned her opportunity with the Nigerian national team.

Born in the Netherlands and raised in England, the goalkeeper chose to represent Nigeria internationally. She made her Super Falcons debut in February 2026, starting in a friendly against Cameroon.

That appearance marked an important moment in her international career and placed her among the goalkeeping options available to Nigeria’s senior women’s team.

Erhabor was subsequently included in Nigeria’s squad for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. Although she did not play during the tournament, being part of the squad gave her further experience around the senior national team and its major international competitions.

The Super Falcons were eventually eliminated in the quarter-finals by Cameroon, who went on to win the tournament.

Crystal Palace Move Raises the Stakes

Crystal Palace’s return to the Women’s Super League gives Erhabor an opportunity to test herself against stronger opposition and compete for a place in a top-flight squad.

The club’s promotion has made squad strengthening particularly important, and the goalkeeper’s arrival adds another young international player to Palace’s plans.

For Erhabor, the immediate challenge will be earning regular opportunities and adapting to the demands of top-flight football. Her previous experience in England means she already knows the domestic game, but the WSL represents a significant step up in competition. That makes the next stage of her career one to watch closely.

Another Super Falcons Player in England

Erhabor’s transfer also adds to the growing presence of Nigerian women’s internationals in English football.

Her move came shortly after fellow Super Falcons defender Rofiat Imuran completed a transfer to Aston Villa Women for the 2026/27 season. Imuran’s move followed her spell with London City Lionesses.

The continued movement of Nigerian players into major European leagues gives the Super Falcons a wider pool of players gaining experience in competitive environments.

For Erhabor specifically, Crystal Palace provides a fresh platform at a crucial stage of her development. At 21, she still has considerable time to establish herself at both club and international level.

Erhabor now begins a new chapter with Crystal Palace, with the two-year contract giving her a clear opportunity to build on the progress she has made since breaking into senior football.

Her route from academy football to senior international duty has already taken her through several important stages. The Palace move now brings a new challenge: competing regularly at the highest level of English women’s domestic football.

With Nigeria’s national team continuing to look for depth and competition in the goalkeeping position, Erhabor’s performances in England will also be of interest to Super Falcons supporters.

For now, the focus is on Palace and the opportunity in front of her. After years of development through England’s football system and her first taste of senior international football with Nigeria, Comfort Erhabor has another chance to prove herself, this time on the Women’s Super League stage with Crystal Palace.
