The Independent National Electoral Commission has begun announcing results from the Osun State governorship election, with incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord party competing against All Progressives Congress candidate Bola Oyebamiji and African Democratic Congress candidate Najeem Salam across 30 local government areas.

Fifteen candidates contested Saturday’s election. Professor Joshua Ogunwale, Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Oye-Ekiti, served as INEC returning electoral officer for the exercise, overseeing collation officers stationed across all local government areas in the state.
In Aiyedaade LGA, Accord recorded 16,681 votes against APC’s 15,719 and ADC’s 331. Registered voters stood at 77,649, accredited voters at 34,232, and votes cast at 33,801. INEC cancelled results in two polling units due to over-voting.
Aiyedire LGA returned Accord with 11,073 votes and APC with 9,910, against ADC’s 148. Registered voters totaled 45,502, with 21,419 accredited. Collation officer Dr. Samuel Sunday presided over the announcement for that local government area.

Atakunmosa West also returned APC with 10,037 votes against Accord’s 7,479 and ADC’s 213. Collation officer Adeniji Adewole confirmed the result after inter-party violence rendered ballot papers unusable, with a cancelled polling unit in Okebode recording 704 registered voters.
Boripe LGA produced one of APC’s strongest single-LGA performances, with the party recording 19,963 votes against Accord’s 12,448 and ADC’s 379. Registered voters in Boripe totalled 81,067. Professor Ahmed Olaide presided as collation officer for that local government.

Collation officer Professor Jacob Opele confirmed 47,205 votes cast against 96,644 registered voters and 47,262 accredited, making Ede North one of the highest-turnout areas announced. The result represented one of the largest margins of victory for any party across all local government areas declared.
Ede South continued Accord’s performance in that corridor, posting 26,188 votes against APC’s 6,219 and ADC’s 390. Registered voters stood at 67,729, with 34,011 accredited. Collation officer Raji Oluwakemi presided over the announcement for Ede South.

Orolu LGA recorded multiple cancellations. INEC cancelled polling units in Ward 04 for over-voting, a unit in Ward 03 Olufon for the same reason, and a Ward 05 Olufon unit after a ballot box was snatched and returned one hour later, with party agents demanding cancellation.
Ife East LGA returned Accord with 27,201 votes and APC with 18,600, against ADC’s 935. Collation officer Professor Benjamin Omolayo noted that no party agent signed the results sheet for Ife East, flagging a procedural concern formally in the collation record.
Collation of Osun governorship election results across the remaining local government areas continued Sunday, with INEC officials working through areas where incident reports required additional documentation before final figures could be confirmed and formally entered into the official record.
