Behind every hit song is a producer whose creativity shapes the sound that millions of listeners eventually fall in love with. For Ogbemudia Emmanuel Aganmwonyi, professionally known as Spykida, music production is more than creating beats—it’s about building timeless records that leave a lasting impression.

Over the past few years, Spykida has quietly established himself as one of Nigeria’s promising music producers, songwriters, A&R executives, and recording artists. While his name may not always be in the spotlight, his work has contributed to some of the records that have defined the country’s vibrant music scene.

A graduate of Sociology and Anthropology from Ambrose Alli University, Spykida has successfully combined creativity with an understanding of people and culture—qualities that continue to influence his unique approach to music production.

A Passion That Became a Profession

Like many successful producers, Spykida’s journey began with a genuine love for music. What started as a passion gradually evolved into a full-time career as he dedicated himself to learning the craft, experimenting with different sounds, and developing a production style that blends originality with commercial appeal.

His consistency and commitment have opened doors to collaborations with some of Nigeria’s biggest names in the music industry.

Working With Some of Nigeria’s Biggest Artists

As his reputation continued to grow, Spykida earned the opportunity to work alongside several notable artistes, helping shape records that have resonated with fans across the country.

Among his most notable contributions is his work on Odumodublvck’s critically acclaimed project Eziokwu, where he produced songs including “Commend,” “WotoWoto,” and “Tesla Boy.” He has also worked on “Badman Bounce” by A1 Perico, further showcasing his versatility as a producer who can deliver diverse sounds and musical styles.

One of the defining moments of his career came with “Channel,” his collaboration with Blaqbonez. The song climbed to No. 1 on major digital streaming platforms in Nigeria, cementing its place as one of the standout releases of the period and further establishing Spykida as a producer to watch.

The Story Behind Channel

Speaking about the creation of Channel, Spykida revealed that the process was remarkably natural.

According to him, there was no pressure or elaborate plan behind the record. Instead, the team simply enjoyed making music together.

“There wasn’t anything too serious behind it. We were just hustling, vibing and having fun while making the song,” he explained.

Although the atmosphere in the studio was relaxed, Spykida said everyone involved believed they were creating something special.

“We knew it had a different bounce. We believed it was going to be a game-changing song.”

Beyond the success of the record, he hopes listeners take away one important lesson from his journey.

“Just keep doing you and stay consistent.”

Looking Ahead

Despite achieving significant milestones, Spykida believes his best work is still ahead of him.

He is currently working on his first producer tape, an ambitious project expected to feature some of Nigeria’s biggest music stars. The forthcoming body of work will showcase not only his production abilities but also his vision for the future of Afrobeats and African music.

For Spykida, producing music goes beyond creating catchy beats. It is about building records that connect emotionally with listeners while pushing the culture forward.

Building a Lasting Legacy

As Afrobeats continues to gain global recognition, producers have become increasingly important in defining the sound that audiences around the world associate with Nigerian music.

Spykida is among a new generation of producers contributing to that evolution through innovation, collaboration, and consistency. His growing catalogue of successful records reflects years of dedication behind the scenes, proving that some of the biggest names in music often begin with the people creating the sound.

With exciting collaborations on the horizon and his highly anticipated producer tape in development, the future looks bright for the talented producer.

Fans can keep up with Spykida’s latest music, projects, and announcements by following him on Instagram (@spykida__) and streaming his work on Spotify.
