The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, founded by High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has launched its Kano State structure and donated 50 branded vehicles for grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The vehicles were presented on Sunday at the Government House, Kano, during the unveiling of the movement’s state structure, which was attended by All Progressives Congress leaders, government officials, lawmakers, traditional and religious leaders and supporters.
Representing Tompolo at the event, the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor, said the movement would take its mobilisation directly to households and communities across the state.
“The plan is that every door will be knocked, every home will be knocked, so that people will give their massive support to Mr President,” Guwor said.
He said the movement would establish structures across the country, with coordinators at ward and polling-unit levels expected to engage voters ahead of the election.
Guwor, who is also Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, said the movement was mobilising support for President Bola Tinubu based on the administration’s economic policies and infrastructure projects.
“A lot has been done, and you can see that he’s very bold with his economic reforms. Good things attract people,” he said.
He cited the removal of fuel subsidy, foreign exchange reforms and infrastructure projects, including the Kano rail project and the rehabilitation of the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, as some of the developments the movement would highlight during its grassroots mobilisation.
Receiving the vehicles, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf described the donation as an indication of Tompolo’s support for the APC and Tinubu’s bid for a second term.
“These vehicles being presented today will be deployed to support our political structures and groups across the state as we prepare for the 2027 general elections,” Yusuf said.
The governor urged political stakeholders, particularly in the North, to support Tinubu’s re-election bid, arguing that presidential power should return to the region after the completion of the current administration’s eight-year tenure in the South.
Yusuf, however, called for peaceful and issue-based campaigns ahead of the election, urging political parties and their supporters to focus on their records, policies and development plans.
“This year’s campaign should be issue-based. What do you have for the good people of the state? What have you done for them?” he said.
The governor said political campaigns should not be reduced to personal attacks, stressing the need for stakeholders to explain what they intended to offer voters.
The movement’s Kano structure is expected to coordinate grassroots mobilisation across the state’s 44 local government areas, with its activities focused on direct engagement with voters.
The launch comes as political groups intensify preparations and mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, with various organisations expanding their structures at state, local government, ward and polling-unit levels.
The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement has also launched similar structures and distributed campaign vehicles in Katsina and Borno states as part of its wider mobilisation campaign for Tinubu.
West Trybe reports that the deployment of 50 vehicles in Kano provides the movement with logistical capacity to coordinate door-to-door mobilisation across the state’s 44 local government areas, while the planned ward and polling-unit structures are intended to take the campaign closer to voters ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
