Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has reportedly submitted his sixth studio album Oriade and four songs for consideration at the 69th Grammy Awards in 2027.
The reported entries were disclosed by Grammy-focused account The Grammy Guru and covered by Nigerian entertainment publications on October 13, 2026. They come as first-round Grammy voting begins, ahead of the nomination announcement on November 16, 2026.
The submissions include Oriade, B4 B4, Nakupenda, Le Show and I Know Who I Be — five works in total. Submission for consideration is not the same as an official Grammy nomination.
Davido’s 2027 Grammy Submissions: The Five Entries

According to the reported list, Oriade is entered in four categories: Album of the Year, Best Global Music Album, Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, and Best Album Cover.
Released on July 31, 2026, the 13-track album features collaborations with artists including Black Sherif, Mayorkun, FOLA, Leon Thomas, Aya Nakamura and Llona. Its tracklist also includes B4 B4 and I Know Who I Be, two songs separately listed in the reported Grammy submissions.
Davido announced the project ahead of its release with the words: “Oriadé. Music royalty from top to bottom. The kingdom expands.”
The album’s reported entries extend beyond the global music category, placing it in contention for recognition of its overall recording, engineering and visual presentation. Whether any of these entries progresses to the final nomination list will depend on the Academy’s eligibility screening and voting process.
B4 B4, Nakupenda and Le Show Target African Music Categories

Among the individual songs, B4 B4, featuring Mayorkun and FOLA, has reportedly been submitted for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance.
The collaboration brings together Davido and two Nigerian artists, making its reported placement across three categories a notable part of the campaign. The categories recognise different aspects of music, meaning an entry in one does not automatically qualify for nomination in the others.
Nakupenda, featuring South African group TxC alongside Zlatan, Shoday, Scotts Maphuma and Al Xapo, is reportedly entered for Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance.
Another entry, Le Show, featuring Ayra Starr and French Montana, is listed for Best African Music Performance. The reported submissions therefore place three of Davido’s collaborations in a category dedicated to African music, while B4 B4 and Nakupenda also target the songwriting-focused Song of the Year category.
Meanwhile, I Know Who I Be, featuring JAZZWRLD and GL_Ceejay, is reportedly entered for Best Music Video.
Taken together, the entries cover album recognition, songwriting, recording, African music performance, engineering, artwork and music-video production. They also involve several collaborators whose contributions form part of the respective recordings.
Davido’s Grammy Submissions Are Not Official Nominations

The distinction between a submission and a nomination is central to understanding the development.
According to the Recording Academy’s official guide, its Online Entry Process allows eligible recordings and other works to be submitted for consideration. Entries then undergo eligibility screening before voting members determine the nominees.
For the 2027 Grammys, the official submission window ran from July 7 to August 21, 2026. The Academy’s published eligibility period covers recordings released between August 31, 2025, and August 28, 2026.
First-round voting is scheduled for October 12–22, 2026. The results of that stage will determine the nominees in most categories, with the complete nominations scheduled to be announced on November 16.
This means Davido’s reported entries have not, simply by being submitted, earned him nominations in the listed categories. Nor does the number of categories guarantee that any particular song or album will make the final list.
The Recording Academy also notes that its voting membership consists of music creators, including artists, producers, songwriters and engineers. Its official guide describes the Grammys as “music’s only peer-voted honor.”
The distinction matters because it separates the administrative process of submitting eligible work from the competitive process that produces the nominees and eventual winners.
Davido’s Previous Grammy Nominations

The reported campaign follows Davido’s earlier appearances on the Grammy nomination lists.
At the 66th Grammy Awards in 2024, his album Timeless received a nomination for Best Global Music Album. His song Feel was nominated for Best Global Music Performance, while Unavailable, featuring Musa Keys, competed for Best African Music Performance.
He subsequently received nominations in Best African Music Performance for Sensational, his collaboration with Chris Brown and Lojay, at the 2025 ceremony, and With You, featuring Omah Lay, at the 2026 ceremony.
The Recording Academy’s artist profile lists five nominations for Davido and no wins. His reported 2027 submissions would give him another opportunity to seek recognition, although the outcome remains undecided.
His latest campaign also arrives as Nigerian and other African artists continue pursuing recognition across the Academy’s international music categories. The reported entries offer a snapshot of how Davido’s team is positioning his recent work, but they do not establish how many nominations he will ultimately receive.
When Will the 2027 Grammy Nominees Be Announced?

The next major date for Davido’s Grammy campaign is November 16, 2026, when the Recording Academy is scheduled to announce the nominees for the 69th Grammy Awards.
The ceremony itself is scheduled for February 7, 2027, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Until the nominations are announced, the reported submissions should be understood as entries awaiting the outcome of the Grammy process, not confirmed nominations or wins.
For Davido, the immediate question is whether Oriade and the four songs listed in the reported campaign will advance to the final nominee list. The answer will become clearer when the Academy publishes its official nominations.
