Even If All of Us Were Kidnapped, No One Would Replace Tinubu” — Okpebholo
The Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, has stated that no politician can replace Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Nigeria’s leader, even if kidn¥ppers were to abdπct all politicians in the country.
Okpebholo made the remark while speaking about Nigeria’s political landscape and discussions surrounding the 2027 general elections.

According to the governor, President Tinubu’s leadership and the level of support he enjoys have positioned him as a leader for whom there is currently no substitute.
Okpebholo also praised Tinubu’s economic and infrastructural reforms, arguing that while some of the administration’s policies may have generated public debate, they were designed to address long-standing challenges facing the country. He maintained that the president has demonstrated the political courage needed to implement difficult decisions aimed at repositioning Nigeria for long-term growth.
The Edo governor further urged members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to remain united and focused on supporting the administration’s agenda. He said continued cooperation among party leaders and elected officials would be crucial in sustaining ongoing development efforts and strengthening the party’s chances ahead of future electoral contests.
Monday Okpebholo comments have sparked debate among political observers. While some view the statement as a strong endorsement of the president and his administration, others see it as a political expression aimed at strengthening support for the ruling party ahead of the 2027 elections.
As of the time of reporting, there has been no official response from the Presidency regarding the governor’s remarks.
