Lagos State has recorded multiple shocking arrests in recent months involving suspected human parts, with police intercepting suspects on major highways and communities. The cases have reignited public fears over ritual killings, robbery, and insecurity across the state.

Lekki-Epe Expressway Arrest: Guns, POS, and a Hand
In one of the most recent incidents, Lagos State Police stopped an unregistered shuttle bus on the Lekki-Epe Expressway and arrested a 21-year-old man identified as Samson Onilewaji. During a stop-and-search operation, officers recovered two locally made pistols, axes, a POS machine, ATM cards, and a suspected human hand. According to police, Onilewaji confessed to robbing three people. The origin and intended use of the hand remain under investigation as authorities work to identify victims and trace possible accomplices. The arrest was confirmed in police updates shared on X and reported by Instablog9ja, with photos of the suspect blurred for security reasons.
Epe: 25-Year-Old Caught with Human Organs for Rituals
A similar case was reported in April 2025 in the Odomola community of Epe. Police arrested 25-year-old Samson Oghenebreme after a tip-off from residents who noticed his suspicious movement.
Lagos Police spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, said Oghenebreme was allegedly transporting human organs from Edo State to a native doctor for money-making rituals. The recovered organs were deposited at the General Hospital, Epe for preservation, and the case was transferred to the Edo State Police Command for further investigation and prosecution.Hundeyin stated: “This arrest underscores the importance of timely information sharing between the public and the police”.
Badagry: Man with Fresh Human Head and Hands
In another disturbing case, Lagos Police confirmed the arrest of a middle-aged man in Muwo, Badagry, with a fresh woman’s head and two hands inside a sack. Residents said blood was dripping from the sack and alerted police. When questioned, the suspect reportedly claimed it was “bush meat.” However, police say the parts appeared to be human. Lagos Police PRO, SP Olarinde Famous-Cole, confirmed the arrest and said investigation was ongoing.
Police Response and Public Concern

The Lagos Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, has repeatedly commended residents for their vigilance and urged Lagosians to report suspicious activities immediately. The spate of arrests involving human parts has raised concerns about the resurgence of money ritual-related crimes in Lagos and neighboring states. Security experts say economic hardship and desperation have been linked to increased reports of ritualism.
For the Lekki-Epe suspect, police say charges are being prepared while they trace the hand’s source. For the Epe case, the suspect is facing prosecution in Edo. The Badagry case remains under investigation.
From Lekki to Badagry, Lagos Police are dealing with a string of gruesome arrests involving suspected human parts. While investigations continue, the incidents highlight ongoing security and ritualism concerns in the state.
