Burna Boy 4 billion YouTube views have pushed the Nigerian Afrobeats star into another piece of music history, as his official channel crosses the landmark figure and makes him the first Nigerian and Sub-Saharan African artist to reach the milestone.

The achievement, recorded in early September 2026, adds another remarkable chapter to the career of Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy. Channel-tracking data showed his official YouTube page at more than 4.02 billion total views, with more than seven million subscribers and hundreds of uploaded videos.

Unlike a record based on a single viral release, the figure represents the combined views generated by content on Burna Boy’s official channel. That includes music videos and other visual content built around his catalogue.

Burna Boy reaches a new YouTube milestone

The numbers underline the extraordinary staying power of Burna Boy’s music. According to Social Blade data, his channel had accumulated 4,029,086,804 views by September 2, 2026. The same data showed more than 7.2 million subscribers and over 320 videos on the channel.

The figure has continued to grow from the audience built around Burna Boy’s extensive catalogue, with several of his biggest releases attracting hundreds of millions of views individually.

Songs such as “Ye,” “On the Low,” “Last Last” and “For My Hand” have become some of the most recognisable titles associated with his international rise. Their continued visibility on YouTube has helped keep older releases relevant while newer projects add fresh audiences to his channel.

From 1 billion to 4 billion YouTube views

Burna Boy’s latest record is also significant because it follows another milestone he set several years ago.

In 2021, he became the first Nigerian artist to surpass one billion total YouTube views. Five years later, his channel has moved beyond four times that figure.

That jump illustrates how dramatically his digital audience has expanded since the beginning of the decade.

It also reflects a broader change in how Nigerian music reaches listeners. YouTube has become an important part of the way African artists connect with audiences outside their home markets, allowing music videos, performances and visual releases to travel quickly across borders.

Burna Boy has been one of the most visible figures in that international expansion.

What the 4 billion YouTube record means for Afrobeats

The milestone comes at a time when Afrobeats has become a major part of the global music conversation.

Burna Boy’s career has played a notable role in that movement. His music has reached audiences across Africa, Europe, North America and other international markets, while his collaborations with major artists have continued to introduce his sound to listeners who may not previously have been familiar with Nigerian music.

His international profile has also grown through major performances and industry recognition. He won the Grammy Award for Best Global Music Album for “Twice As Tall” at the 2021 ceremony, becoming one of the Nigerian artists to take Afrobeats further into the mainstream global awards space.

His career has since continued to combine commercial releases with major international appearances.

Why Burna Boy’s YouTube catalogue matters

The 4 billion figure is not simply about one moment or one song. It has been built over years of releases, visual content and sustained interest in Burna Boy’s music. A song that performs well years after its release can continue adding views to an artist’s overall channel total, while new releases create another opportunity to bring viewers back.

That long-term performance is particularly important on YouTube because the platform allows older music videos to remain discoverable alongside new material.

For Burna Boy, that means songs from different stages of his career continue contributing to the same digital catalogue.

The numbers also show the value of having a deep body of work rather than relying on a single breakout record. From earlier songs that established his identity to later international hits, Burna Boy’s catalogue has continued to attract viewers.

A record that adds to Burna Boy’s growing list

The 4 billion YouTube milestone is the latest in a long line of achievements associated with the singer.

He has previously broken ground as an international Nigerian headliner and built a reputation as one of the country’s most successful musical exports. His rise from the Nigerian music scene to major international stages has made him one of the leading figures in the worldwide growth of Afrobeats.

Now, his YouTube numbers provide another way to measure that reach. The milestone is particularly striking when placed beside his 2021 achievement. Crossing one billion views was already a major benchmark for a Nigerian artist at the time. Reaching four billion only a few years later shows how quickly the audience around his music has grown.

Burna Boy’s 4 billion views set a fresh benchmark

With more than four billion views recorded on his official YouTube channel, Burna Boy has set a new benchmark for Nigerian music on the platform.

Contemporary coverage from the News Agency of Nigeria and other Nigerian outlets identifies the achievement as making him the first Nigerian and Sub-Saharan African artist to surpass the four-billion mark.

The record is also a reminder of how far Afrobeats has travelled.

For Burna Boy, the milestone adds another number to an already impressive career. For Nigerian music, it offers a striking snapshot of the size of the global audience now paying attention to artists from the country.

And with his catalogue still generating millions of views, the four-billion mark is unlikely to be the final YouTube milestone attached to the Burna Boy name.
