Funke Akindele has released “Ore Mi,” a new soundtrack from her upcoming film The Four: No One Fights Alone, bringing together Waje, Bisola Aiyeola and Chioma Akpotha for a song centred on friendship, love and the bond between women.

The actress and filmmaker announced the collaboration on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, after the song became available as a single. Akindele said the four women went into the studio to create something personal and familiar, drawing from the folktale style of storytelling through music that they grew up with.

‘Ore Mi’ Brings The Four Women Together

Akindele described “Ore Mi” as one of the soundtracks for The Four, a film built around relationships, loyalty and the strength people find in one another. “Bisola, Waje, Chioma and I did a thing,” she said while introducing the song, explaining that they wanted to create something that felt personal and familiar.

She also pointed to the folktale influence behind the track, saying the song tells stories through music, particularly stories about friendship, love and the bond they share.

Produced by Tolu Obanro, popularly known as Tyanx, “Ore Mi” features vocals from Akindele, Waje, Bisola Aiyeola and Chioma Akpotha. The collaboration also brings together four women who feature prominently in The Four.

The title “Ore Mi” means “My Friend” in Yoruba, making it a natural fit for a movie whose central themes include friendship, loyalty and relationships.

The Four Arrives In December

The Four: No One Fights Alone is scheduled to hit cinemas globally on December 11, 2026.

The film is produced by Funke Akindele Network, also known as FAAN TV, and distributed by FilmOne Entertainment. It is described as a drama exploring friendship, motherhood, resilience, courage, sacrifice and the strength of ordinary women.

The story moves between the Odu community and the city, following Esosa and three women whose determination to fight for the future of a young man they love puts their courage, faith and loyalty to the test.

Akindele has said the film explores the relationships that shape people and remain with them through different stages of life. She also wants the project to reflect Nigerian identity through music, fashion, language and tradition.

That cultural focus is already evident in the decision to make music an important part of the film’s identity.

Star Cast Leads The Four

The “Ore Mi” collaboration reflects the strong female presence at the heart of The Four. Akindele leads the project as writer, director, producer and actress, while Waje, Bisola Aiyeola and Chioma Akpotha also feature in the film.

The wider cast includes Richard Mofe-Damijo, Timini Egbuson, Lateef Adedimeji, Ali Nuhu, Uzor Arukwe, Wunmi Toriola, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Antar Laniyan and Shoday, among others.

The ensemble brings together established Nollywood actors, musicians and entertainment personalities, adding to the attention surrounding the December release.

For Akindele, however, the soundtrack is not simply another promotional release. Its message of friendship and togetherness fits directly into the story she is preparing to bring to cinemas.

Why ‘Ore Mi’ Fits The Film

The connection between “Ore Mi” and The Four goes beyond having the same stars attached to both projects.

The song focuses on friendship, love and shared experiences, while the film follows four women whose bond is tested by difficult circumstances.

That makes the track a natural extension of the movie’s story rather than a separate piece of promotion. Its mix of English, Yoruba and Igbo also reflects the cultural approach attached to the project.

Akindele has used music in previous film projects as part of their wider storytelling and promotional campaigns. Her recent productions have also leaned into Nigerian culture and music to strengthen their connection with audiences.

“Ore Mi” continues that approach while giving the four leading women an opportunity to create together outside their acting roles.

Funke Akindele’s December Box Office Run

The December release of The Four also comes at an important point in Akindele’s career.

Her previous December films have performed strongly at the Nigerian box office. A Tribe Called Judah, released in December 2023, finished its cinema run with more than ₦1.4 billion, becoming the first Nollywood film to cross the ₦1 billion mark.

Her subsequent December releases, including Everybody Loves Jenifa and Behind The Scenes, have continued that commercial momentum, giving The Four another major box-office test when it arrives in cinemas.

However, the new film will have to build its own audience. Its star-studded cast, cultural themes and early soundtrack campaign give it a strong starting point, but the December box office will ultimately determine how it performs.

What Comes Next For ‘Ore Mi’

Unlike the original suggestion that the song was only being teased, “Ore Mi” is already available as a single. Spotify lists the 2-minute-20-second track under Funke Akindele, Waje, Chioma Akpotha and Bisola Aiyeola, with a release date of August 30, 2026.

The release gives audiences an early taste of the musical world surrounding The Four before the film reaches cinemas on December 11.

Akindele has encouraged listeners to enjoy the song, keep sharing it and show the project support as the movie campaign continues.

For fans of the four stars, the appeal is straightforward: “Ore Mi” brings together familiar faces from Nollywood and music on one track while reinforcing the same message at the centre of The Four, that friendship can become a source of strength when everything else is tested.

With the song now out and the film set for December, Akindele has begun building anticipation for what could be another major cinema outing.
