Isbae U says the 2022 scandal nearly ended his career, as the popular Nigerian content creator reflected on one of the most difficult periods of his career and how he managed to move forward.
The content creator, whose real name is Adebayo Ridwan, opened up about the experience during an interview with media personality Morayo Afolabi-Brown on The Morayo Show.
His comments come as his career has taken a different direction in recent years, particularly with his interview programme, Curiosity Made Me Ask, which has featured several notable Nigerian personalities.
Isbae U Recalls the Difficult 2022 Period
According to Isbae U, the controversy that surrounded him in 2022 was a particularly difficult period because of the backlash that followed.
He said people who had previously spoken positively about him began making negative comments, leaving him worried about what the controversy could mean for his future in the entertainment industry.
Isbae U recalled turning to fellow content creator Mr Macaroni during the period and asking whether his career had reached its end.
“2022 was a tough time for me,” he said while reflecting on the experience.

Curiosity Made Me Ask has since become one of the projects most closely associated with Isbae U.
The programme has featured prominent personalities including former President Olusegun Obasanjo, veteran actor Pete Edochie and entertainer Charly Boy.
His interview with Obasanjo recently attracted considerable attention online, further increasing interest in the format and Isbae U’s approach to celebrity interviews.
