UNBOUND 2026 brings thousands of young people to Daystar Christian Centre in Lagos for GODACITY, featuring Prinx Emmanuel, Kelar Thrillz, Oba Reengy, music, art and conversations around faith and culture.
UNBOUND 2026 has opened in Lagos, bringing together young people, music, creativity and Christian faith under the theme “GODACITY” as Daystar Christian Centre’s youth festival gets underway at its Oregun Centre.
The two-day festival, organised by The Starhub, the youth expression of Daystar Christian Centre, is expected to attract about 10,000 young people on September 12 and 13. With performances, conversations, games, art, dance and comedy on the programme, UNBOUND 2026 is positioning itself as more than a conventional church gathering.
UNBOUND 2026 centres on ‘GODACITY’
This year’s theme, GODACITY, stands for “Godly Audacity, Gods in the City.” The idea is built around encouraging young Christians to live out their faith confidently while remaining connected to the culture and creative spaces around them.
That approach is at the heart of what organisers say they want UNBOUND to represent.
Rather than separating faith from everyday youth experiences, the festival creates room for music, art, dance, spoken word, comedy and open conversations to sit alongside Christian teaching and community.
Daystar Christian Centre Senior Pastor Sam Adeyemi described the vision as creating a space where young people do not have to leave parts of themselves behind to participate in church.
The message behind GODACITY is particularly aimed at young people navigating different environments, including schools, workplaces, creative industries, friendships and relationships.
Youth culture takes centre stage at UNBOUND 2026
Music and entertainment are a major part of the festival, with a lineup designed to appeal to a generation that consumes faith, entertainment and popular culture side by side.
Prinx Emmanuel, Kelar Thrillz and Oba Reengy are among the featured performers, alongside Gospel Force, Saelem and more than a dozen other artists and creatives expected to participate across the two-day programme.
The inclusion of these performers gives the event a distinctly contemporary feel. Instead of limiting the programme to worship sessions, organisers have built a wider festival experience around different forms of creative expression.
That mix also reflects the broader purpose of The Starhub, which focuses on young people and seeks to provide them with direction, purpose and a sense of belonging.
The Starhub describes itself as the youth expression of Daystar Christian Centre, serving young people aged 16 to 23.
More than music at the Lagos youth festival
While the performances are likely to draw much of the attention, UNBOUND 2026 has several other activities planned for attendees.
A major part of the programme is a live conversation centred on GODACITY and what it means to carry Christian faith into everyday spaces.
The discussion features Ayomide Adetoro, Lamide Akintobi, Ayo Ishola, known as The Visual Advocate, and Ejirhoghene Oghenetegha. The conversation is expected to explore how young people can express their faith while navigating environments where religion may not always be the focus.
Beyond the main stage, attendees can also take part in a Game Zone, Sweet Spot, open art spaces and dance activities.
The structure gives the festival a social side as well. Young people can move between performances, conversations and creative activities rather than spending the entire event in a conventional auditorium setting.
Why UNBOUND 2026 is attracting attention
UNBOUND has reached its fourth year, and its organisers have continued to broaden the festival’s format.
The 2026 edition reflects that evolution particularly clearly. It combines Christian faith with elements of contemporary youth culture without treating the two as separate worlds.
For Daystar, the festival offers an opportunity to speak directly to young people in a setting that feels familiar to them. For attendees, it provides a chance to meet other young people, enjoy performances and explore questions about faith, identity and life beyond church walls.
The organisers’ expectation of around 10,000 attendees also underlines the scale of the event. Reports ahead of the festival described it as one of the major youth gatherings on Daystar’s calendar this year.
