Real Madrid have agreed personal terms with RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, 19, after submitting an opening bid of €90m plus €10m in add-ons, per Fabrizio Romano.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, writing on X on Saturday, disclosed that Real Madrid have reached a verbal agreement on personal terms with Yan Diomande, the 19-year-old Côte d’Ivoire winger currently contracted to RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga.

Romano confirmed that Diomande gave Real Madrid the green light on contractual terms. The agreement, according to Romano, mirrors the one the player reportedly reached with Paris Saint-Germain in June, placing the Spanish club as a direct rival to the French side for his signature.

Real Madrid submitted an opening bid worth approximately €90 million, plus €10 million in add-ons, for the winger. RB Leipzig promptly rejected that offer, leaving the two clubs without an agreed transfer fee as of Saturday.

Yet Real Madrid did not withdraw. The Spanish club is preparing an improved offer as it looks to secure Diomande before the summer window closes, according to the Romano report published on Saturday.

Diomande joined Leipzig from Spanish club Leganés one year ago in a deal worth around €20 million. His rapid progress since that transfer has now drawn the attention of European football’s elite clubs.

During the 2025-26 Bundesliga season, the winger scored 12 goals and provided nine assists across 33 league appearances, combining pace, dribbling ability, and consistent attacking output from the flanks.

His performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup added further weight to his growing profile among European clubs. Several elite sides registered interest following his displays for Côte d’Ivoire at the tournament.

At 19, Diomande remains one of the younger elite wingers in European competition. His arrival at Leipzig from Leganés for €20 million now stands as one of the more cost-effective acquisitions in the Bundesliga over the past 12 months, given the valuations now being discussed.

Real Madrid’s verbal agreement with the player on personal terms represents a concrete advance in their pursuit, even as Leipzig’s refusal of the opening bid keeps the transfer unresolved. Both the fee and the competing interest from Paris Saint-Germain remain live variables in the negotiation.

Paris Saint-Germain had previously secured a verbal personal terms agreement with Diomande in June, according to Romano’s Saturday report. Real Madrid’s entry has directly replicated that arrangement, setting up a potential contest between the two clubs over the transfer fee with Leipzig.

Romano’s reporting positioned Real Madrid as strong contenders to sign the player. The personal terms agreement gives the Spanish club a firm foundation for any improved bid they intend to put to Leipzig in the coming days.

Leipzig’s rejection of the €90 million plus €10 million add-ons offer leaves a gap between the clubs. Real Madrid’s willingness to prepare a second, higher bid confirms their intent to push the deal toward completion despite that rejection.

Diomande’s breakout Bundesliga campaign produced 12 goals and nine assists in 33 league appearances. That output, combined with his age and his 2026 World Cup performances for Côte d’Ivoire, formed the basis of Real Madrid’s decision to pursue him as a transfer priority this summer.

The move, if completed, would bring the 19-year-old to La Liga just one year after he moved from Leganés to Leipzig for €20 million. Real Madrid’s opening bid of €90 million reflects the pace at which his market valuation has shifted since that initial transfer.

No completion date for a deal has been announced. Real Madrid’s next bid, and Leipzig’s response to it, will determine whether the personal terms agreement between the player and the Spanish club leads to a completed transfer.
