Vice President Kashim Shettima on Wednesday said the economic reforms introduced by President Bola Tinubu’s administration were unlocking investment opportunities across Nigeria by improving the business environment and enabling states to harness their economic potential.
Shettima stated this while declaring open the 2026 Jigawa State Investment Summit in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital.
The Vice President disclosed this in a post on his official X account on Wednesday.
According to him, the Federal Government’s reforms are designed to attract investment, stimulate economic growth and create a more business-friendly environment across the federation.
“Across the federation, the President Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government has taken difficult but necessary decisions to put the economy back on a path of sustainable growth,” Shettima said.
He explained that the administration was implementing a series of strategies aimed at improving the ease of doing business and attracting investment into the country.
The Vice President said the reforms were being driven through the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council and other structural and fiscal initiatives introduced by the Federal Government.
“In my remarks, I explained some of the strategies being deployed by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to improve the ease of doing business in Nigeria,” he said.
Shettima added that the government’s approach had shifted from bureaucracy to collaboration with state governments to stimulate economic growth.
“Through the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), as well as the bold structural and fiscal reforms, the Federal Government has replaced gatekeeping with partnership, enabling the subnationals to unlock their economic potential,” he stated.
He expressed optimism that the investment summit would provide a platform for investors, policymakers and other stakeholders to explore opportunities capable of accelerating economic development in Jigawa State and across Nigeria.
