As Ekiti State residents head to the polls to elect a new governor, social commentator and businessman Isaac Fayose has appealed to voters not to sell their votes but to choose leaders who can improve their lives.
Isaac Fayose, the younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, made the appeal in a video shared on social media on election day.
In the video, Isaac Fayose displayed his lifestyle and said he was enjoying a comfortable life abroad, stressing that the outcome of the election would have little impact on him personally. According to him, the people of Ekiti are the ones who stand to gain or lose depending on the choices they make at the ballot box.
He expressed disappointment that some of his followers had been sending him direct messages asking for money in exchange for voting. Fayose insisted that voters should not expect financial inducement from politicians or public figures before participating in the democratic process.
Instead, he urged residents to vote out politicians whom he accused of enriching themselves while ordinary citizens continue to struggle economically.
“Go out and vote. Take your state back and get your country back,” Fayose said, adding that citizens should focus on securing a better future for themselves rather than seeking short-term financial rewards.
The businessman openly endorsed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Dr. Wole Oluyede, urging voters to support him in the election.

Wole Oluyede is a medical doctor, businessman and politician who emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the 2026 Ekiti State governorship election. He won the party’s primary election after defeating other aspirants to secure the PDP ticket.
Oluyede, who hails from Ikere-Ekiti, has built a reputation in both the medical and business sectors. Throughout his campaign, he has promised inclusive governance, improved healthcare, grassroots development and economic growth for the people of Ekiti State.
The PDP candidate has consistently argued that Ekiti voters deserve better economic opportunities, improved social welfare programmes and more transparent governance.
As voting continues across the state, the election is expected to be closely watched, with major political parties battling for control of the Ekiti State Government House.
