One Nation Festival will debut on October 1, bringing culture, music, tourism and entertainment together at Nautica Beach Resort in Lagos for Nigeria’s Independence Day celebration. The inaugural event, organised by Cruxstone Development & Investment Limited, is being positioned as a broad cultural and lifestyle experience built around Nigeria’s diverse traditions and shared identity.

The festival will take place on Thursday, October 1, 2026, as Nigeria marks its 66th Independence anniversary. Organisers have chosen the theme, “Many Cultures. One People. One Celebration,” reflecting the central idea behind the event: bringing different aspects of Nigerian culture and contemporary creativity together in one location.

Rather than focusing solely on music, the One Nation Festival has been designed as a wider Independence Day experience covering several parts of Nigeria’s cultural and entertainment landscape.

According to the organisers, the inaugural edition will combine culture and heritage with tourism, sports, music and entertainment, food and hospitality, fashion and lifestyle. Family activities, wellness experiences and corporate and government engagement are also part of the planned programme.

That broad approach is one of the defining features of the new festival. It gives the event room to showcase not only performers and entertainers but also food, fashion, creative expression, leisure activities and other elements that contribute to Nigeria’s cultural identity.

The organisers say visitors can expect live entertainment, cultural showcases, sporting experiences, culinary offerings, fashion and creative displays, family-friendly activities and wellness experiences. The festival will be staged within the waterfront setting of Nautica Beach Resort, adding a leisure and outdoor dimension to the Independence Day programme.

Nautica Beach Resort is part of Cruxstone’s wider waterfront development vision and is positioned as a leisure, lifestyle, hospitality, wellness, recreation and entertainment destination in Lagos.

The resort’s official website describes Nautica Beach as an in-city coastal destination offering activities and experiences that include water-based recreation, sports, entertainment and dining. Its listed facilities and activities include volleyball, football, quad biking, paintball, snooker, virtual reality gaming and a beach club experience.

The location therefore provides a setting suited to the festival’s combination of entertainment, leisure and family activities.

The resort is located in Lekki, Lagos, according to its official contact information.

The festival is also already listed on a Nigerian event-ticketing platform for October 1 at Nautica Beach Resort, giving further confirmation of the event date and venue.

What organisers want One Nation Festival to achieve

Beyond the Independence Day festivities, Cruxstone says the festival is intended to highlight opportunities in Nigeria’s tourism, hospitality, leisure, entertainment and creative industries.

Utibe Bassey, General Manager of Cruxstone Development & Investment Limited, said the organisers want the festival to celebrate Nigeria’s diversity while highlighting the experiences and aspirations that connect Nigerians.

Bassey also said the inaugural edition is intended to provide a platform that can develop into a major Independence Day experience for Nigerians and visitors from outside the country.

The organisers are also looking beyond the entertainment programme. One Nation Festival is expected to create opportunities for collaboration involving government, corporate organisations, brands, creatives, tourism stakeholders, cultural institutions and members of the public.

That means the festival is being presented not simply as a one-day entertainment event but as part of a larger effort to connect culture, tourism, business and destination development.

A new addition to Nigeria’s Independence Day calendar

The arrival of One Nation Festival adds another event to the growing list of cultural and entertainment activities surrounding Nigeria’s Independence Day.

Its first edition will bring together several elements that are often presented separately, from music and food to fashion, sports, tourism and family recreation. The waterfront setting at Nautica Beach Resort is also expected to shape the character of the celebration.

For Cruxstone, the long-term ambition is to build an event that can grow beyond its maiden edition and become a recurring platform for showcasing Nigerian creativity, culture and tourism.

With its debut scheduled for October 1, the One Nation Festival will make its first appearance as Nigeria celebrates 66 years of independence. Its message is captured in the event’s theme: many cultures coming together for one national celebration.
